KUWAIT CITY -- The Kuwaiti emir on Tuesday issued an order accepting the resignation of the government, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

ADEN, Yemen -- The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg on Tuesday arrived in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden for a two-day visit, amid efforts to push the country's warring parties to uphold a fragile UN-brokered ceasefire.

Grundberg held meetings with Rashad Al-Alimi, president of the Presidential Leadership Council and other high-ranking officials of the internationally-recognized Yemeni government in Aden over the recent breaches to the UN-brokered truce. (Yemen-UN Envoy-Ceasefire)

JERUSALEM -- Israel on Tuesday denied it has approved Jordan's request to increase the number of waqf staff at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, also known to Jews as Temple Mount.

Jordan requested to add 50 waqf staff at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound about a month and a half ago, and "Israel did not find it appropriate to accede to the request," Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office said in a statement. (Israel-Al-Aqsa Mosque-Staff-Increase)

ALGIERS -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune met with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, as the two countries marked the 60th anniversary of the official ties.

The bilateral relations and the Ukraine issue were on the agenda of the meeting between the Algerian president and Lavrov, who arrived in Algiers later Monday, local media reported. (Algeria-Russia-Foreign Minister-Visit)
