AMMAN -- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on Tuesday launched the Green Economy Financing Facility program in Jordan to support the country's transition to a greener economy, the bank said in a statement.

In cooperation with the European Union and the Green Climate Fund, the EBRD will provide a total of 40 million U.S. dollars to Jordanian financial institutions, such as banks, microfinance institutions and leasing companies, to offer loans to the private sector for investing in high-performance technologies and services, the bank said. ADEN, Yemen -- A convoy of the UN Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA) on Tuesday survived a landmine explosion in Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, a security official told Xinhua.

"A convoy of UNMHA composed of a group of vehicles was struck by a landmine explosion while they were traveling in the Al Hali district of Hodeidah," the local official said on condition of anonymity.(Yemen-UN Convoy-Explosion)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Intelligence Ministry said on Tuesday its forces have arrested 10 suspects during operations that busted a number of "terrorist" cells in three provinces.

The ministry said in a statement quoted by the Iranian Students' News Agency that the "terrorist" cells were based in the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan in central Iran, and Kurdistan in northwestern Iran. (Iran-Counterterrorism-Terror Cells)

AMMAN -- Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi and his visiting Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein on Tuesday held expanded talks in Amman to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The meeting followed up on the outcomes of the talks between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani held in Amman in November, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. (Jordan-Iraq-FMs Meeting)
