FUZHOU, May 26 (Xinhua) -- A sea route linking the city of Quanzhou in east China's Fujian Province and the Middle East opened Thursday in Quanzhou Bay.
A container ship loaded with local goods such as machinery and equipment, generator sets, stones, children's shoes, and sanitary ware set sail for Dubai's Jebel Ali Port.
The route passes through ports of Qingdao, Ningbo, Shihu, Nansha, and Dubai, and extends to St. Petersburg in Russia.
The route will operate twice a month with seven container ships in service.
