GAZA -- The Israeli military said Friday it launched air raids on Gaza after clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli police at the border wounded at least 12 Palestinians.

No casualties were reported in the raids so far.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement that the aircraft struck a military post belonging to Hamas, the Islamist group ruling Gaza, after a "violent riot" broke out at the border between Israel and the coastal enclave. (Israeli Strike-Gaza-Border Violence)

ADEN, Yemen -- The Yemeni government announced on Friday it welcomed all initiatives aimed at putting an end to the country's eight-year civil war, after a delegation of Houthi rebels arrived in Saudi Arabia for a new round of peace talks.

In a brief press statement, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry declared its full support for the ongoing peace efforts by Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Nations, and other members of the international community to broker a truce. (Yemen-Government-Houthis-Peace Talks)

ISTANBUL -- Rescue teams sent by Türkiye have joined Libya in its search and rescue efforts while new aid supplies have been shipped out from the Turkish western port city of Izmir, Türkiye's local media reported Friday.

"Türkiye's helping hand has reached Libya," the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. (Türkiye-Libya-Floods Aid)

TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Friday that more than 38,640 people have been displaced in the most affected areas in northeastern Libya after heavy floods triggered by Mediterranean storm Daniel swept the region.

The IOM said in a statement that 2,217 buildings were destroyed alone in Derna, the port city that has been hit hardest by Libya's worst floods in decades. (Libya-Floods-Displacement)
