KHARTOUM -- Violent confrontations resumed on Saturday between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in various areas of the capital Khartoum as the clashes in Sudan entered the sixth month. The RSF launched violent attacks targeting the headquarters of the SAF's General Command in central Khartoum and other military bases in nearby Omdurman and Bahri cities, according to local media and eyewitnesses. SANAA -- Lightning strikes have killed seven people in Yemen's northwestern province of Hodeidah in the past 24 hours, local health authorities said on Saturday.

ANKARA -- Two Turkish ships carrying humanitarian aid arrived in Libya on Saturday after a catastrophic flood killed thousands of people in the North African country, Türkiye's Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The vessels were carrying 360 personnel from the disaster agency, health ministry, the coast guard service, search and rescue teams, and fire brigade, according to the statement. (Türkiye-Libya-Aid)

KHARTOUM -- Chairman of Sudan's transitional Sovereign Council and General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on Saturday headed to Uganda on an official visit, the Sovereign Council said in a statement.
Al-Burhan will hold talks with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni about ways to enhance bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern, the statement said. (Sudan-Burhan-Uganda Visit)
