TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi condemned the US and the UKs attacks on Yemen, saying war on the Arab country is doomed to fail.
- Politics news -Araqchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty exchanged views over a phone call regarding regional developments.
In the phone call on Saturday, the Iranian top diplomat denounced the acts of aggression on Yemen by the US and the UK.
He referred to the history of the Yemeni peoples defense against foreign aggressions and said the option of war against Yemen is certainly doomed to fail.
He also condemned the resumption of Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, killing of civilians and blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave in stark violation of the ceasefire agreement.
He called for urgent international action to stop the Israeli regimes war-mongering.
The Egyptian foreign minister, for his part, stressed the need to contain the escalation in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen.
Abdelatty called for diplomatic efforts and consultations to prevent fueling the tense situation in the entire region.
The Iranian and Egyptian foreign ministers also underlined the need for continued consultations on regional developments.
