One of the mottos used by US President Donald Trump since he took office in January has been promises made, promises kept. The first 100 days of his second term has seen him brazenly wield his executive authority but many of his campaign pledges remain unfulfilled.

In the first 100 days of Trump's second term in theWhite House, federal courts have slowed or halted some of his most aggressive moves.

Trump vowed to resolve conflicts in Gaza andUkraineswiftly, saying he could forge a peace deal in the latter war on "Day One" in office. But both wars continue to claim lives, while Trump has launched a large-scale campaign of airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels inYemen.

In Gaza, the administration was able to negotiate a ceasefire, but that has crumbled and the US remains a staunch supporter of Israel in its war with PalestinianHamasmilitants.

Trump also ordered a significant overhaul of the federal government, lead byElon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE.

Hisworldwide tariffs have jolted the US stock market andstoked fears of a recession. Businesses that rely on imports are nervous, and consumer confidence is dropping.

But nowhere has Trump been more aggressivethan with immigration policy. Arrests of migrants in the US illegally through Trump's first three months have already surpassed last year's total.
