TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli warplanes carried out heavy bombardments on Yemens capital Sanaa, striking residential areas, oil facilities, power plants, and the presidential palace district in what local witnesses described as one of the most intense attacks in recent months.

Israeli media outlets portrayed the strikes as large-scale operations aimed at eliminating senior members of Yemens Ansarullah movement. Reports also claimed that Israeli warships took part in the assault, signaling an expansion of Tel Avivs aggression.
Yemeni Ansarullah Movement swiftly dismissed those claims. Movement official Nasr al-Din Amer called the Israeli narrative baseless and said the strikes had failed to achieve any of their declared objectives. He stressed that Yemens military operations would continue in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
The reports about targeting leaders in Sanaa are baseless, Amer said, reaffirming that Yemens support for Gaza is unwavering.
The Israeli army later acknowledged responsibility for the air raids, saying it had struck military installations in Sanaa in retaliation for a recent missile launch from Yemeni territory that was intercepted before reaching occupied Palestine.
Yemens Supreme Political Council chairman Mahdi al-Mashat condemned the Israeli and American escalation, accusing Washington of fueling the war. He mocked the US deployment of forces to the region, noting that its aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman had already lost effectiveness early in the conflict.
Whenever you hear that the American enemy, with its mad government, has deployed forces, remain calm; for this means that its weapons have failed, al-Mashat said. He reaffirmed Yemens firm and principled position in support of Gaza until the aggression and blockade end.
Since the outbreak of Israels war on Gaza in October 2023, Yemeni forces have intensified their retaliatory operations, vowing to continue until the Israeli military aggression and siege of Gaza end.
Israel and its allies, including the United States, have attacked with intensified military campaigns targeting Yemeni strategic locations such as Sanaa and the Red Sea port of Hudaydah.
Critical infrastructure, including airports and power stations, have been hit, exacerbating humanitarian conditions in the already war-torn country.
